Fargo South Debate

Registrations are due by Sunday, Dec.23rd at 5 PM. Changes without penalty will be taken until Tuesday, January 2rd at noon.

You are cordially invited to the Fargo South Debate Tournament on January 5-6. Elimination rounds will be employed. Registration will be Friday, January 6 3-3:30 in the library. Rounds will begin at 4. Schools will need to remain in the commons until 3:50 as school is in session until then.

We will be offering Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum and will have all divisions.

LD and PF will offer Division I and II. Standard time limits will be followed.

Judging Requirements:

Teams will need to provide judges to cover their debate entries. Judges who cover 2 entries. Elimination rounds are included in the total numbers of rounds in the tournament even if your teams have been eliminated you are expected to be available. Arrangements will be made for schools from out of town to get on the road if needed. Judges are available for hire, but please contact Gayle directly if you need this. She may make arrangements for you to pay judges directly if they are not set up in the Fargo system.

Judges will be scheduled to judge a variety of kinds (PF and LD) and levels of debate (Division I and II). Please indicate if judges should be assigned to ONLY PF or ONLY LD. If the judges you list are only able to judge division II (perhaps they are only one year out of school), please indicate this on the registration form. PLEASE ALSO NOTE ANY SCHOOL CONFLICTS OR INDIVIDUAL DEBATER CONFLICTS (worked with a debater in a coaching capacity, for example, for nationals preparation, at a camp, has a student in class, etc.) FOR JUDGES.

A limited number of judges will also be available for hire from the tournament. The rate for hired judges is $170.00 (to cover two days of judging). I will need this information no later than December 22nd if at all possible.

Cost

LD entries are 10.00 each and PF entries are 15.00 each.

Concessions

We are planning to have the typical concession stand available for food purchases both Friday evening and Saturday until early afternoon.

Judges should also have Tabroom accounts. PLEASE ASK YOUR JUDGES TO REGISTER WITH TABROOM WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS. We are going to make online ballots available to judges. And schedules will be released online by round as well as on the wall. Your debaters may want Tabroom accounts so they can follow the tournament.

If you cannot make Tabroom cooperate, EMAIL the registrations to Gayle Hyde, tournament manager. Changes will be accepted without penalty until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd. After that time, teams are expected to pay for all registered students and judges requested. Of course we will take adds provided we have space in the event after the deadline.
