Note: Parking is only accessible from Southbound Decoro - if coming the other way, you have to make a U-turn. If you park in the student lot off of Smyth and Dickason, you will have a long walk to the tournament locations on campus. It is highly recommended that you park in the staff lot off of Decoro--it is a closer walk to where awards, concessions, and the majority of rounds will be held.

Fees: $20 per LD, $40 per Team & TCFL Dues if this is your first TCFL Tournament of the season. For non-TCFL schools competing in WSD, the entry fee for WSD is $50. Please make checks payable to "Tri-County Forensic League".

Debate Topics:

Policy Debate:
"Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income."

Lincoln-Douglas Debate:
November/December: "Resolved: The United States ought to prohibit the extraction of fossil fuels from federal public lands and waters."

Public Forum Debate:
November/December: "Resolved: The United States federal government should forgive all federal student loan debt."

World Schools Debate:
Rounds 1 & 2 Prepared Motion: "This House opposes the use of public funds for school vouchers." (teams debate both sides), Round 3 Impromptu Motion

Parliamentary Debate topics will be published 20 minutes before round.

Judges: Each school is obligated to provide one qualified judge per every 2 Policy, Parli, PF, and WSD teams,* and one qualified judge per every 4 LD entries.* If your judging quota is not met, your entries may be dropped. Judges should have laptops/an electronic device to complete their ballot.

Because of the differences that exist in human perception, a subjective quality is present in the scoring of Speech and Debate rounds. Even with rules and evaluation criteria for guidance, judges will not evaluate the same performance in an identical manner. While we do everything possible to maintain consistency in scoring, winning results are not guaranteed.
