Gulf Coast District Qualifier

for the 2024 National Tournament

Welcome to NSDA Gulf Coast District!

Thank you Harlingen South High School and coaches Edelmiro Cavazos and John Reynolds for hosting us.

Friday will start at the Performing Arts Center and transition to Gutierrez Middle School.

Saturday will be held at Harlingen South High School.

Entries are due by February 13th at 5pm.

Coaches - Please submit no more than 10 names for students you would like considered for World Schools to nrecker@lvisd.org by February 15th. Please indicate if the student has competed for worlds at Nationals or if they have competed in another event at Nationals. Do NOT just type in the interest on the single entry intent form.

Also nominations for all special awards are due by February 15th as well.

The process for picking world school members is as follows:

Preference will be given to students that have competed at world schools at Nationals.

Then the committee will look for students that have competed at Nationals in other events.

We will then start identifying students that are alternates in events. Work ethic, NSDA points, and other factors will be considered. If a student has been to Nationals but displayed disregard for practices and competition - they may be excluded from the world schools process.
