Cherokee Congress Challenge 1

2023 — NSDA Campus, US

The Cherokee High School Speech and Debate team would like to invite you to our first Congressional Debate event!

This Friday night tournament (10/6), consisting of two preliminary sessions (no elim), will utilize the National Speech and Debate Association's rules for congress in its High School Unified Manual. The first session will be from 5pm to 7pm, and the second session will be from 8pm to 10pm. The tournament will be held online and use Tabroom's NSDA Campus.

Cost for each student entry is $10 and used to secure judges. Schools are not required to provide judges.

Each school is encouraged to write and submit a piece of legislation; it does not need to be tied to an author. Legislation must be received by Friday, September 22nd. Please use the NSDA templates when crafting your bill or resolution and send it to jamie.wills@cherokeek12.net. The packet of legislation for this event will be released shortly thereafter - emailed to all registrants and posted on this tabroom site.

Registration for this event will close on Friday, September 29th, and fees frozen at that time.

We look forward to hosting this online tournament and giving all our students a chance to compete in Congressional Debate.

Thank you! And do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!
