BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen Speech & Debate Tournament

On behalf of the Ascend International Education Group and BASIS Global, we cordially invite you and your team to the inaugural Speech and Debate tournament of the 2023-2024 Season, hosted in-person at BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen. The event will take place Saturday October 21^st to Sunday October 22^nd, and promises to be an engaging and intellectually stimulating experience for all participants. This tournament will consist of competition in Duo Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, Public Forum Debate, and Solo Interpretation.

Opened in 2020, BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen fosters academic excellence and provides students with a platform to develop critical thinking, communication skills, and confidence. Our institution is renowned for nurturing a diverse and inclusive learning environment, where students are encouraged to explore their passions and challenge themselves in various disciplines. As we embark on this exciting journey of hosting our first Speech and Debate Tournament in-person, we are eager to welcome talented participants from across the country to showcase their persuasive abilities.

The registration deadline is September 19, 2023, and we encourage you to complete the registration process at your earliest convenience to secure your spot. The web site will begin accepting entries on Monday, September 4, 2023. You are responsible for entering your school and student information, and for getting the spelling and event information correct. All registration will be conducted electronically. This means that you must confirm your entries and judges online. We will close registration on Saturday, September 19, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

As you start to make your travel arrangements, each campus’ Director of Student Affairs should coordinate directly with Alexia Mao (alexia.mao-bbsz@basischina.com), the Bilingual School Vice Head of Operations. She will be running point on lodging and transportation.
