2023 The Renaissance Tournament Invite

Thank you for your interest in the Renaissance Tournament hosted by Da Vinci Academy. This tournament will be located at DaVinci Academy in downtown Ogden. We are limited on space so it is first come first serve and when we are full I will be closing the entries.

Dates: Friday, November 3 - Saturday, November 4, 2023

Location: DaVinci Academy of Science and the Arts (Secondary)

Events:

Friday: Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duo Interp, Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, Impromptu, National Extemp, Foreign Extemp.

Saturday: Student Congress, Public Forum, Policy, Lincoln Douglas, Spontaneous Argumentation

Divisions: Open

Topics: Will be the November NSDA topics.

Congress Legislation will be the UDCA legislation from September and October. Students will Caucus to decide the order of the docket. We will be using the pre-set recency on tabroom.

Public Forum will be using online coin flips, please log in and choose your sides immediately after receiving your postings or your side and order will be randomized.

Double Entry: Competitors may enter in 2 IE (except for Extemp events) events and 1 Debate event.

Awards: We will have awards for the top three in each event. Sweepstakes awards for the top 3 schools and 1 for the most efficient school.

Judges: 1 judge for every 6 IE

1 judge for every 4 LD/PF/Congress entries

1 judge for every 2 Policy entries

Fees: $15 school fee per day

$4 per student per event per day

$25 for each round missed by judge

$25 drop fee after deadline
