Topic, Format, Tabulation

We will debate the 2023-24 NDT-CEDA debate topic. The format will be 6 prelim debates breaking to octofinals and so on.

Hotel Information

Because of the uncertainty of what the in-person pool at our hybrid tournament will look like, and because the Monday elimination debates will be held on campus, we currently are reluctant to book a block of rooms at a hotel. Some recommendations we have in terms of good places to stay, close to campus include:

· Hampton Inn & Suites

· Tru by Hilton Ogden

· Courtyard By Marriot

· Hilton Garden Inn

We are happy to work with teams and answer questions to find the best accommodations given the lack of a reserved block.

*all this being said, I am in the process of potentially booking a block of rooms and will update folks if this happens

Tournament Provided Food

To help reduce costs for participants traveling to Ogden, the tournament will be providing a breakfast, lunch, and dinner both days of the tournament. On Sunday we will have a banquet dinner and awards ceremony after the octofinal debate. On Monday participating teams will receive breakfast and lunch.

Parking

Parking on campus is free in lot A2 on weekends. The tournament will be hosted in Elizabeth Hall which is right next to the parking lot. An Uber or Lyft from downtown Ogden to campus is around $9-12 and a 8-10 minute ride.

On Monday I will be giving out parking passes for teams to park on campus. I can also hold bags in the squad room offices for teams checking out of their hotel before coming to campus.

Transportation to and from the airport

For teams flying into Salt Lake City, the light rail to Ogden is $15 dollars. With a 10-minute walk (tops) to the hotels in the area downtown.
