SCDU Summer Debate Tournament, Saturday-Sunday, August 12-13, 2023.

We invite you to the SCDU Summer Debate Tournament, held annually every August. While many of the competitors registered will be participants of the SCDU Summer Debate Workshop, the tournament is open to any and all!

We offer competition in Open and Novice divisions of Policy Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, World Schools Debate, Big Questions Debate, and Congressional Debate. Middle School and High School students may compete in both divisions. Novice is defined as less than a full year of debate experience.

Judges should be provided for every 2 entries, or part thereof. Hired judges are available if you cannot provide your own judge for the tournament ($30 per round judged).

Public Forum teams will alternate sides and use the September/October topic (announced August 1^st, 2023). LD will also use the September/October topic (announced August 1^st, 2023). Policy Debate will use the 2023-2024 topic (already announced). Congress bills will be attached two weeks before the tournament. Big Question topic will be published after the August 8^th, 2023 announcement.

Trophies/medals will be provided to the top teams and speakers.

Payment: Single entrees are only $25. Partnered entries are only $50. Payment can be made by Paypal, check, or debit/credit card.
