Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor:

Ore City High School invites you to our Online UIL Springboard speech and debate scrimmage. This UIL speech and debate round will be held on the NSDA campus and utilize an online format.

All UIL speech & debate will be held on contest day!

DEADLINES

All entries are due online the Monday before the practice round. Interp event videos are due to be posted by 12:00 pm the day of the contest. If any issues are adding your student's video link to the contestant, please email me the video or link, and we will post it to your competitor.

JUDGING

You must supply a judge for every event your school enters. You will be charged a judge fee of $75.00 if you do not provide a judge for your student's event.

For debate,

One judge for every 4 LD contestants

One judge for every two CX teams or part thereof

One judge for every 6 Prose/Poetry/Extemp/Congress Contestants

AT MINIMUM, speech/debate team coaches MUST serve as judges

ENTRY FEES

The goal is to create an online practice format for schools that otherwise would not have access to it. The goal is to model the NSDA Springboard format for schools focusing more on UIL speech and debate events. I want to host one practice round for the UIL schools that want an additional practice that otherwise could not get round(s) before their district tournament.

ALL EVENTS WILL HAVE A $10.00 ENTRY FEE TO COVER THE COST OF NSDA CAMPUS ROOMS.

OTHER INFORMATION

UIL CX: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase fiscal redistribution in the United States by adopting a federal jobs guarantee, expanding Social Security, and/or providing a basic income.

UIL LD: FALL 2023 UIL TOPIC---Once it has been released, we will update.

Prose & Poetry:For this event, it will be reader's choice, and you are encouraged to record the performance you are needing feedback on.
