Coaches!

Thank you for competing in our Region 12 Debate Tournament! We will be allowing 1 entry in a debate event, and double entry in IEs. Students will have more opportunities to qualify for state, but if they qualify in more than one individual event, they must choose between the two for state.

There will be concessions at Carbon High during the tournament. A menu/price list will be posted on this site as soon as it is available.

Topics:

We will be using March topics for Region, as these will be the topics for State Debate. These topics include:

• Lincoln-Douglas Debate – 2023 March/April Topic - Resolved: The justices of the Supreme Court of the United States ought to be term-limited.

• Public Forum Debate – 2023 March Topic Area: South and Southeast Asia - Resolved: The Republic of India should sign the Artemis Accords.

• Policy Debate – 2022-2023 Topic - Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity.
