EPISD and YISD would like to welcome you to the first annual 2023
EPISD and YISD Last Chance Swing Tournament. The tournament will be IN-PERSON at Eastwood High
School on Feb. 10-11, 2023.

Friday will be the EPISD portion of the swing. All events will end on Friday.

Saturday will be the YISD portion of the swing.

We will be offering the complete
set of events in IE’s and LD, PF on both days, and Congressional debate on Friday. Students may enter both sides of the swing, so for example they may compete in POI on both Friday and Saturday. If any events fail to meet qualifying numbers, then the event will be dropped.

All teams need to bring at least two judges for Friday afternoon and two for Saturday. All coaches and adults will be required to judge as many rounds as needed! This tournament was created to help our students have one last chance to qual and/or practice for NSDA and State, so please be patient and prepared to judge.

Congressional Debate on Friday will be debating the following pieces of legislation Numbers 24-30 (Prelims), numbers 15-21 (Finals) of the TFA Spring 2023 Docket.
Please refer to the schedule for event times and cross entry rules. All cross-entries are
at the student’s own risk. If a student does not make their round on-time they may be
dropped, regardless of the reason. Out-rounds will be paneled only if we have enough
judges available. We will break brackets in debate out-rounds. Brackets will be broken in debate our-rounds.
We will do our best to accelerate the schedule if/when possible, so please pay close
attention to the postings and updates.

12:30: Finals - Student Congress Finals Bills 15-21

Debate Cross-Entry Rules for Friday EPISD Swing:

Students who do LD or PF may ONLY do that one event and nothing else on Friday!

LD/PF: 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, 8:30

IE Cross-Entry Rules for Friday EPISD Swing:

Students may enter both extemps and nothing else OR

Students may enter one extemp and two other IE's OR

Students may enter three IE's

Ballots will not be held for ANY REASON once the round is over, we cannot pair and start semis on-time otherwise.

Cross Entry Rules: LDers may not enter any Patter A events. PFers may not enter any Pattern B events. Students may cross-enter in THREE IE's per pattern.
Extemp draw will begin 30 minutes prior to the round.
