2023 Camel Classic Speech Tournament

Friday and Saturday, February 10th & 11th, 2023

Welcome to the 2023 Camel Classic Tournament. We are very excited to be holding our tournament. We will be accepting entries as usual on a first come basis. Four entries per event per school to start, but please put any others you have on the waitlist and we will take them as we can. Usually all waitlist entries are accepted. This year we may be able to accommodate for larger entries as we are the only activity using our building that weekend.

Events

We will be offering our usual events in two patterns. You may double at your own risk except for those competing in CX Debate and Extemp.

D Pattern: LD, PF, CX, Duet, Drama, and POI.

HOPE Pattern: Humor, Oratory, Poetry, Extemp, Informative and Congress

We are looking at adding in Impromptu into the D Pattern.

There will be three preliminary rounds, a semi and a final in all events except Congress. Congress will have three sessions and then two sessions of Super Congress.

Please have your initial entries in by February 3rd, 2023.

We ask that you have names entered and entries finalized by Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. We will freeze the fees on Wednesday February 8th, 2023.

Awards

We will be given to each Speaking and Interpretation finalist, Debate Semi and Finalists, and the top 10 congress students.

Judging

We will be asking for schools to bring a few judges. Basically, one judge for every 8 entries. If you have debaters entered, a judge who will do some debate would be greatly appreciated.

Food

CCHS Booster Club is looking into offering dinner and lunch. We will have a cost for each hopefully next week.
