2023 MSCI Novice State Finals and an Open tournament will be held at 24062 Taft Rd. Novi, MI 48375 on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Welcome to all!

We are so pleased to invite everyone to attend this in person competition of fun and forensic glory!

The Open Invitational and the 2023 Novice State Finals will provide the opportunity for a great day of forensics competition. The MSCI officers and trustees have been working hard to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Please bring your own water bottle. There are water bottle re-fillers throughout the school. Water WILL NOT be sold at concessions nor provided in the judge lounge!

Bearclaw Coffee Co. will be on-sight with a variety of coffees, Frappuccinos, & assorted baked goods.

Register: @ Tabroom.com. Registration for the tournament will close on Tuesday, March 7 at 5:00PM. Any drops occurring after this time will incur a fee.

Schedule:

7:00-7:45 AM - Registration and Membership renewal (outside Media Center)

8:00 AM - BC/EX Prep report (Media Center)

8:10 AM - Judges Meeting for ALL judges (Band Room)

8:20 AM - General Meeting for ALL contestants (Auditorium)

8:30 AM - RD1 (all)

10:00 AM - RD2 (all)

11:30 AM - RD3 (all)

1:30 PM - SEMIS

3:30 PM Novice/Open IE FINALS

5:30 PM Combined IE Award Ceremony for all participants

Fees: $10/single entry, $15 per Duo (Interpretation and Commentary), $20 per Multiple

Judges: 1 judge per 5 entries (Duo Interp./Duo Commentary/Multiple count as two entries).

**Judges for the Novice State Finals must be an MSCI member or have MIFA IE Certification. Please indicate in judges notes if your judge is either an MSCI member or IE certified.
