2nd ANNUAL PORTER SPARTANS UIL B INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

UIL Coordinators and Coaches,

Porter High School is excited to offer a UIL B Tournament, with speech sign ups here on tabroom, and academic signups at https://forms.gle/HA5avoSgMjcZuT8d9. The tournament will be February 11th. We are excited to see our returning teams and for any new ones!

MEDALS FOR TOP 6 INDIVIDUALS IN ALL EVENTS! Team Plaques for 1st and 2nd in UIL Team Events!

Our schedule will offer 2 guaranteed rounds in interp for all students to get a chance to practice both A & B pieces. Additionally, we will offer 6 rounds in LD, and will use standings for final placements. It will be $20 for LD, and $10 for everything else.

Judging/Grading: Local judges, including both parents and teachers will judge interp and extemp. LD will be judged by school judges. All schools must provide one LD judge for every 2 entries, or their entries will be DROPPED. In accordance with this, there will be no judge fees. Coaches are expected to help grade in all academic events.

Speech events offered: UIL LD (spring topic), UIL Prose, UIL Poetry, UIL Informative Speaking, UIL Persuasive Speaking, Impromptu, Storytelling, Middle School Oral Reading.

Cross Entering: Cross entering is allowed, however it is the responsibility of the student to make it to rounds, no rounds will be held up due to cross entering. Be sure to check the schedule, we do allow LD and Extemp entries, but we do not follow the conflict pattern between Academic and Speech. Any entries between the two is at contestant's risk. For all other academic events, we will follow the conflict pattern.

Journalism: For all journalism and writing events, we will provide lined paper, but teams are welcome to bring their own computers and printers, we just cannot guarantee you internet access or computer access.

Registration closes and fees lock at 5pm on February 6th.
