Here are the Limited Preparation Topics for the 2023 4n6U Spring Classic.

Extemp Commentary

  • Students will choose one topic from the below list and prepare a commentary on that topic using their personal knowledge, understanding, and analysis.

  • Time limits for Extemporaneous Commentary will be 5 minute speeches with 30 seconds of grace time.

  • No video editing is permitted in this, or any other event.

  • Students need not record prep time for this event

  • Commentary should be presented from a seated position

Topic options:

  • paper note-taking

  • Too many streaming services

  • Movie reboots

  • Required volunteer hours

  • Climate-conscious foods

Extemporaneous Speaking

  • Students will choose one question from the below list and prepare a speech answering the question.

  • Time limit for Extemporaneous Speaking will be a 7 minute speech with 30 seconds of grace time.

  • No video editing is permitted in this, or any other event.

  • Students do not need to record prep time for this event.

  • Who should be watched going into the 2024 presidential election?

  • Should weather be shifting United States policies?

  • What are tech layoffs going to do to the United States economy?

  • Will the Chinese comments about the Ukraine conflict make any difference?

Prepared Prompt Speaking

  • Students will choose one question from the below prompts.

  • Time limit for prepared prompt will be five(5) minutes with a thirty second grace period

  • No video editing is permitted in this, or any other event.

  • Students do not need to record prep time for this event.
