South High School – “Bison Stampede” Invitation 2022

South High School’s Bison Speech and Debate program is pleased to invite you to a Novice tournament on Saturday, November 12, 2022. This year’s tournament will feature both in-person competition at South High School (1213 W. Allison Rd., Cheyenne) AND an asynchronous division for platform and speech events. We hope that those unable to join us in Cheyenne may consider participating asynchronously. Varsity competitors are encouraged to represent their schools as judges. We will support competition in common Wyoming divisions: Humor, Oratory, Poetry, Extemp, Informative, Congress, Drama, Duo, LD, PF, and CX.

Asynchronous Entries

Any novice competitor, including those competing in the in-person tournament, is encouraged to submit an asynchronous entry. This could be a great opportunity for students to get feedback. Videos do not have to be exceptional quality or fully memorized. Please consider giving your students a chance to learn from ballots wherever they may be with polishing their pieces.

Video links from common file sharing sites (OneDrive, Google Drive, or YouTube) are strongly preferred to allow for easy access and prompt judging. Video links should be uploaded by Wednesday, November 10 at 10:00pm.

Congress competitors and coaches should take note of the following:

• This tournament will use a set docket. Debate will proceed in natural order through the legislation packet provided above.

• To help foster quality and variety of debate, legislation is drawn from several sources including the Wyoming Legislation database, NSDA, and University Interscholastic League.
