Thank you for your interest in the 2023 Washington Warrior Invite. My students and I are very excited to welcome you to Washington High School. We are pleased to announce that our tournament will be held in person on Friday, November 10th. We are offering the following events:

Debate: Student Congress, Novice Original Oratory, Varsity International Extemp, and Varsity Original Oratory, Varsity Domestic Extemp, Novice Extemp

Interp Events: Novice Dramatic Interp, Novice Duo Interp, Novice Humorous Interp, Novice Informative, Oratorical Interpretation (Non-Original Oratory), Poetry, Reader's Theater, Storytelling, Varsity Dramatic Interp, Varsity Duo Interp, Varsity Humorous Interp, Varsity Informative.

SCHEDULE

8:15 – 9:15 AM – Registration in the Auditorium

9:20 – 9:30 AM General Meeting in the Auditorium

9:30 AM – Round One – Reader’s Theatre/Extemp Draw

10:00 AM – Round One of IEs 10:45 AM– Round Two – Reader’s Theatre/ Extemp Draw

11:15 – Round Two of IEs

12:15 – Round Three – Reader’s Theatre/Extemp Draw

12:45 – Round Three of IEs

1:30 – Reader’s Theatre/Extemp Draw

2:00 – Finals Round of IEs

4:00 PM – Awards in the auditorium (will move up if able to)

TEAM ENTRANCE AND BUS PARKING:

Participating schools can begin arriving at 7:15 AM – do not arrive any earlier than this time.Please do not use the Main Entrance of the building.All teams will need to enter the building via the Faculty Doors (“T” Doors) on the West Side of the School (near the Tennis Courts) and report directly to the Auditorium (adjacent to Faculty Doors).There will be restrooms available near the Auditorium area. When buses/vans return they can park in the Faculty Parking Lot (West Lot) near the FB Field/Tennis Courts.

ROOM USE:

When using rooms, please treat the rooms with respect and stay away from using teacher desks, Viewboards, whiteboards, and any items not designated for use.

CONCESSIONS:

Concessions will be available in the WHS Commons area.
