Dear UIL Coordinator/Sponsor:

Ore City High School would like to cordially invite you to our Christmas Wonderland speech and debate meet. This UIL speech and debate meet will be held Saturday, December 3rd, 2022.

EVENTS: All UIL Speech and Debate plus TFA/NSDA speaking events as well.

REGISTRATION: Please register at www.tabroom.com for speech and debate events.

DEADLINES: All entries are due online by Wednesday, November 30^th, 2022, at 4:00 PM. You may change names after this date, BUT drops made after Thursday, December 1st, 2022, at 4:00 PM will result in the loss of your entry fee.

JUDGING: You must supply a judge/grader for every event in which your school is entered. If you do not provide a grader/judge, your students will not be graded.

For debate,

1 judge for every 4 LD contestants

1 judge for every two CX teams or part thereof

1 judge for every 6 Prose/Poetry/Extemp/Congress Contestants

Judging fees are $150/judge for debate and speaking events if you do not provide a judge. However, we prefer judges over fees.

AT MINIMUM, speech/debate team coaches MUST serve as judges

ENTRY FEES:

CX Entries: $30.00/team

LD Entries: $15.00

Congress Entries: $15.00

Speech Events: $10

AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to the top 6 places in each event.

OTHER INFORMATION:

EXTEMP: All current UIL rules related to disabling Wi-Fi or other internet access must be followed.

UIL CX: Resolved:The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity.

UIL LD: Resolved:Amateur status ought to be valued above commodification of Name Image Likeness.

Congress: We will be shifting to the Fall 2022 TFA Congress docket Items 1-12. For the morning session, we will utilize Items 1-6 and in the afternoon we will utilize 7-12.

Poetry & Prose: Selections will be the reader's choice.

NSDA/TFA INTERP EVENTS: We will use the TFA/NSDA rules to adjudicate these events.
