Hoosier Invitational Tournament 2023

The Indiana University Hoosiers are thrilled to invite you to Bloomington, Indiana for the 2023 Hoosier Invitational Tournament on Jan 21-23.
Preliminary debates will be hasted in Ballantine Hall. Monday's elimination debates will be hosted in the Indiana Memorial Union's conference space.
HIT 2023 Tentative Schedule (Saturday 4 rounds, Sunday 2 Rounds and Doubles, Monday Octas to Finals)
R1 and R2 we will attempt to produce as many in-person rounds and in-person judging pairings. We will prefer "in-person rounds with in-person judging" when preferences allow.
Fees - payment link
In-person fees will be $75.00 per person, including teams participating and judges. The fees will be used to cover three meals a day Saturday/Sunday plus conference space and trophies.
Online teams will be charged $150.00 each.
All payments will be collected through a payment portal that will be established by Indiana University Conferences. Credit cards and checks are accepted. Checks will need to be mailed.

The tournament will use the 2022-2023 NDT-CEDA policy resolution and time limits. The tournament is American Debate Association sanctioned. Half the field at the start of round 1 will break to elimination debates.

All in-person rounds will be in Ballentine Hall on the 200 and 300 level classrooms. After a major renovation, Ballentine Hall no longer has a parking garage connected to it.
If you are not staying at the IMU, there are two parking lot options. The first is most convenient but more expensive Saturday and Sunday. You should park in this lot for Monday outrounds.
1. IMU Pay parking lot, $2.50 an hour max if $28 for the day
Biddle Hotel & Conference Center, East 7th Street, Bloomington, IN
2. Atwater Parking garage - free parking Saturday and Sunday. Address:921 Atwater Ave, Bloomington, IN 47401. There is one entrance. You will need to drive East on Atwater (One way) and turn on S. Faculty Lane (One way) to access the lot.
You can walk with your students through the biology building to stay warm after crossing 3rd street and head north towards the large classroom building (Ballentine).
Elimination debates will be in the Tree Suites of the Indiana Memorial Union.
