Mesquite Wildcat Invitational

2022 — Gilbert, AZ/US

Welcome (Back) to the Mesquite Wildcat Tournament!

Please view the invitation tab on the left for a complete tournament invite, including other important things to know.

Mesquite High School is proud to invite you back (finally!) to the Mesquite Wildcat Tournament on November 18 and 19.

MASK EXPECTATIONS

As per the Gilbert Public Schools district policy, masks are STRONGLY encouraged but NOT required. The tournament directors ask that social distancing (4-6 feet of space) be observed inside when possible. We reserve the right to restrict the number of people in a room.

Judges MUST be aware that the choice to wear a mask (or not) SHOULD NOT affect the score of the competitor.

ENTRIES

You may enter as many students per event as you like. There is a team fee of $30, and each entry costs $7. (Duos and Radio Duos will cost $14 per entry.)

Students may enter in up to THREE speech events OR ONE debate event and TWO speech events.

AWARDS

We will be starting TWO new awards at the Wildcat!

The first award, called the New Horizons Award, will be awarded to the student that has the most sweepstakes points in the two newest events that have been added to the tournament schedules. For our first award we’ll be using Radio Duos and OSW points.

The second award, called the Small But Mighty Award, will be awarded to the student who has the most sweepstakes points in the category that has the fewest entries (speech or debate).

LEGISLATION

REVISION FROM THE INVITATION: Congress bills are due 11/1 at 5:00 PM, sent to marissa.hart@gilbertschools.net ** and will be released 11/4 for teams to review.

**Please send legislation to Ms. Hart’s email with the subject “MHS Wildcat Tournament Legislation”.

When you arrive for Congress, students MUST wear the name tag provided to them. Our district has a policy of wearing badges/name tags at all times while on campus during the school day. Competitors must wear them at all times while on campus.
