EQUITY CONCERNS

The Dogwood Speech & Debate League (DSDL) is committed to providing participants, judges, coaches, and volunteers the opportunity to pursue excellence in their endeavors. This opportunity can exist only when each member of our community is assured an atmosphere of mutual respect.

The DSDL prohibits all forms of harassment and discrimination. Accordingly, all forms of harassment and discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by any applicable federal, state, or local law are prohibited, whether committed by participants, judges, coaches, volunteers, and/or observers.

The DSDL reserves all rights to subject violators to the full range of sanctions, up to and including removal from the tournament premises and referral to appropriate authorities. Any individual, or group of individuals, who believes they have been a victim of harassment and/or discrimination should report it to theTournament Director or appropriate authority immediately.

Registration: Registration will occur electronically on Friday, November 24th from Noon to 4:00 PM. Please confirm your entry and judges via Tabroom.

Changes (prior to Round One) ought to be emailed to dsdltournamentdirector@gmail.com. Nuisance fees apply to unreported drops.

Resolutions:

Public Forum:Resolved: In the United States, right-to-work laws to more harm than good.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate:Resolved: Justice requires open borders for human migration.

Student Congress:Student Congress legislation should remember the following information in regards to submission:

  • A school that enters competitors in the Congress division may submit appropriately formatted legislation.
  • Legislation must be submitted before Friday, February 18th at 6:00 PM via Tabroom.
  • Legislation will be posted no later than Monday, February 20th, 2023.
  • To expedite the release of the legislation packet, the League has adopted templates. They can be found on the website and Tabroom.
