Schedule for BQ States:

Note - Start time is a little earlier on Friday because we have only 2 rounds on Thursday, and we have 3 on Friday.

THURSDAY - Two preliminary rounds, starting at 6:00 PM (so - Round 1 posted by 5:30 to 5:45).

FRIDAY - One more preliminary round, starting at 5:30 PM (posted between 5:00 and 5:15).  Then we break to semis.

PLEASE KNOW THE FOLLOWING THIS YEAR.

The National Speech and Debate Association is serving as tournament sponsor and offering generous grants to both schools and the MSDL. This is a good chance to be good by doing good.

1) For any student who is ranked in the top four (4) in Big Questions at the Massachusetts Speech & Debate League’s Tournament if the student and their school program are NSDA members, the school will receive $250 for their speech & debate team. Payment must be made either to a school, speech & debate team, booster club, or nonprofit.

2) Provide the top (1) Big Questions competitor a qualifying spot to the 2022 National Speech & Debate Tournament in Big Questions. To be eligible, the student competitor and their school must be NSDA members prior to the Massachusetts Speech & Debate League’s Tournament.
