Brookfield East Tournament

2022 — Brookfield, WI/US

Dear Forensic Coaches,

The Brookfield East Forensics Team is pleased to invite you to the Brookfield East Forensics Tournament on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Entry registration will be through our tournament site at http://behsforensics.tabroom.com. The deadline is 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022.

COVID MITIGATION:
We will do our best to follow the guidelines laid out by the WFCA for safe, in-person tournaments. For a full list of those guidelines, please visit the WFCA website, but here is short summary of a few of the procedures we will follow:

  1. Masks: Masks will be required for all coaches, judges and students except when actively performing, eating, or drinking.

  2. Social Distancing: Each team will be assigned a team classroom to gather both before the tournament and during the lunch break.  These rooms will only be available before round 1 and after round three, so students should plan to carry all belongings with them.  Team supplies can be left in a corner of the room, but be aware that these supplies may be inaccessible during prelim rounds.

  3. Electronic Balloting: We will require all judges fill out electronic critique sheets and ballots on tabroom.com in order to limit the use of paper and surface contact between schools.

  4. Food: We will have concessions available for purchase during the lunch break and will focus primarily on pre-packaged foods and “grab and go” bag lunches. Students should plan on eating in their team rooms and not in the cafeteria.  Judges’ food will also be available, but we encourage judges to gather and eat with the team that hired them (especially if they traveled together).

  5. Awards Ceremony: We will gather as a large group in the Field House for awards. We will enforce mask wearing throughout the ceremony and require teams to clump together and separate themselves from other schools as much as possible.

Events: All WFCA Speech Events will be offered. Please check the latest WFCA handbook at http://www.wfcaforensics.org for event rules and regulations.

Entries: You may register as many entries as you wish. Your top 25 contestants will be counted for team trophies with 4 max in any category. In an effort to give everyone enough space to safely attend, this is a SINGLE entry tournament.

Entry Fees: Each entry will be charged $10.00 per individual event and $15.00 for Duo Interpretation, Group Interpretation and Play Acting. You will be responsible for all entry fees as of 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Drops after March 24th do not reduce your fees or judge requirement.

Judges: You must provide 1 judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof; 10  entries require 2 judges, 11 entries require 3 judges, etc. A limited number of hired judges will be available for hire at $150 each. All judges should be familiar with WFCA rules and ballots and must have linked accounts on tabroom.com in order to be registered to judge. In the Judges’ Lounge, coffee and prepackaged breakfast items will be provided in the morning and a prepackaged lunch will be served after the preliminary rounds.

Please make checks payable to: Brookfield East High School Forensics.
