Registration: 

Day of registration will run between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. Last minute changes should be texted to (205) 746-1907 if they are known prior to arrival.

Resolutions:

Public Forum - Resolved: On balance, Turkey’s membership is beneficial to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate - Resolved: The appropriation of outer space by private entities is unjust

 

Congressional Debate:

NOTE: Because the District Congress tournament is being held in conjunction with the Novice Championship, the procedures for the DSDL Novice Championship are different than in years past.

Congressional Debate legislation should remember the following information in regards to submission:

  • Congressional debate entries must be submitted no later than 5:00PM on February 23rd, 2022.
  • No legislation will be accepted from schools.  The DSDL will provide unaffiliated legislation.
  • Legislation will be posted no later than Monday, February 21st, 2022.

 

Entering Multiple Speech Events:

For the DSDL Novice Championship, students in speech events will be allowed to enter three speech events.  The only exception is students who enter Extemporaneous Speaking.  Students in Extemporaneous Speaking are limited to two speech events only.

High School Judges:

For the JV/Novice Championship, schools may bring current high school students to judge.  They must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed 4 or more semesters in high school (Current Junior ('23) or Senior ('22))
  • Currently have 250 (Degree of Distinction) or more NSDA points on file with the NSDA
  • Have an active Tabroom account linked to their profile.
