On behalf of the Mississippi High School Activities Association and the MHSAA Speech and Debate Coordinating Committee, welcome to the MHSAA Speech and Debate State Championship!

 

We are so proud to host this event in person at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Ridgeland, MS, on April 29-30

 

The following events will be offered at this tournament: Debate- Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas; Flight A- Duet Acting, Prose Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Impromptu Speaking, Original Oratory, Program Oral Interpretation, Expository Speaking (supplemental); Flight B- Duo Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Declamation, Informative Speaking, Storytelling (supplemental)

 

All qualifying information, fees, and schedules are in the tabs and pages on the right side of this site. 

 

 All schools are responsible for providing one judge in speech (if entered) and one judge in debate (if entered). Registration for student entries closes on April 25th at 8 pm, and judge registration closes on April 26th at 8 pm. THERE WILL BE NO LATE ENTRIES TO THE TOURNAMENT.

 

In the lead-up to the tournament, remember that you should observe good sportsmanship, adhere to the Honor Code of the NSDA, and exhibit humility, equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service. We are looking forward to the first in-person MHSAA Speech and Debate State Championship since 2019!
