2022 Panther Invitational Speech Meet

Friday and Saturday, March 4 & 5, 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Panther Invitational Speech Meet.

We will be accepting entries on a first come first serve basis. Initially there will be a registration limit of 4 entries per event, but please add entries to the waitlist. We will do our best to add everyone from the waitlist.

Events

We will be offering events in two patterns. You may double at your own risk except for those competing in Extemp.

D Pattern: LD, PF, Duet, and Drama.

HOPE Pattern: Humor, Oratory, Poetry, Extemp, Informative, and Congress

PF March Topic - Resolved: In the United States, the benefits of increasing organic agriculture outweigh the harms.

LD Mar/Apr Topic - Resolved: In a democracy, a free press ought to prioritize objectivity over advocacy.

There will be three preliminary rounds, a semi and a final in all events except Congress. Congress will have three sessions and then one session of Super Congress.

Please have your initial entries in by Feb 24.

Congress legislation will be taken from the Wyoming Congress database the weekend before the tournament.  For Super Congress, legislation will be from the national tournament last summer.

We ask that you have names entered and entries finalized by Tuesday, March 2nd, 2022. We will freeze the fees on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2022.

Awards

We will be giving awards to the first three finalists in each category. 

Judging

We will be asking for schools to bring a few judges. Basically, one judge for every 4 entries. If you have debaters entered, a judge who will do some debate would be greatly appreciated. *Please note the judging burden will not appear on Tabroom until the waitlisted entries have been changed to the active status. Please enter your judges early so you are not caught out by the judging burden.*

Miscellaneous 

There will be concessions both days, cash only.

There will be raffle tickets being sold throughout the meet for a chance to win a variety of baskets. Cash or check will be accepted for the tickets.
