EQUITY CONCERNS

The Dogwood Speech & Debate League (DSDL) is committed to providing participants, judges, coaches, and volunteers the opportunity to pursue excellence in their endeavors. This opportunity can exist only when each member of our community is assured an atmosphere of mutual respect.

The DSDL prohibits all forms of harassment and discrimination. Accordingly, all forms of harassment and discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by any applicable federal, state, or local law are prohibited, whether committed by participants, judges, coaches, volunteers, and/or observers. 

The DSDL reserves all rights to subject violators to the full range of sanctions, up to and including removal from the tournament premises and referral to appropriate authorities. Any individual, or group of individuals, who believes they have been a victim of harassment and/or discrimination should report it to the Tournament Director or appropriate authority immediately.

Registration: Registration will occur electronically on Friday, February 4th from Noon to 4:00 PM. Please confirm your entry and judges via Tabroom. Nuisance fees apply to unreported drops.

Resolutions:

Public Forum:  Resovled: On balance, Turkey's membership is beneficial to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Resolved: The appropriation of outer space by private entities is unjust.

 

Student Congress: 

Student Congress legislation should remember the following information in regards to submission:

  • A school that enters competitors in the Congress division may submit appropriately formatted legislation.
  • Legislation must be submitted before Friday, January 28th at 6:00 PM via Tabroom.
  • Legislation will be posted no later than Monday, January 31st.
  • To expedite the release of the legislation packet, the League has adopted templates. They can be found on the website and Tabroom.
