Hello and welcome!!

At the start of the new semester, we are excited to help kick off the Spring competitive season in person! It’s a new semester, and as we say here at Plano East: The Sun Always Rises in the East!

We are pleased to say that we will be a NIETOC bid tournament! We will be offering all TFA events, plus Prose, Poetry, and Impromptu. All debaters are eligible to cross-enter into Pattern B events (Extemp, DI, Poetry, Duo, OO). We will have 3 Prelims of Debate. For IEs with 24 or more entries, there will be 2 prelims, a semi, and a final. For IEs with fewer than 24 entries, there will be 3 prelims and a final.

We will be providing a wonderful catered hospitality room - breakfast, lunch, and dinner (plus snacks and drinks throughout the day) - and we will have an incredible concession stand of food available for purchase for your students, all courtesy of our excellent Plano Eastside Boosters! We will be following TFA and Plano ISD Covid protocols to ensure the safety of our community. We ask all attendees, especially unvaccinated attendees, to wear a mask.

Busses should drop off students at the flagpoles at the front of the school, and students walk up the central path to the breezeway.  Plano East students will greet you as you arrive and guide you to the cafeteria. Plano East students will also be helping competitors navigate the halls. Please keep an eye out for any student wearing a Plano East shirt and ID badge if you have questions!

To ensure this tournament is an enjoyable and educational experience for your team, we promise to run as efficiently as possible, and we strive to provide quality judging for all events. We do ask, however, that you please try to provide as many qualified judges as possible to help the pool remain clean and competitive.
