The Fourth Annual Scorpion Spectacular

BASIS Peoria and Mountain Ridge are proud to invite you to the fourth annual Scorpion Spectacular on January 28th and and 29th, 2022. The tournament has grown big enough that we are no longer able to fit in our original location, and Mountain Ridge has graciously agreed to host for us allowing us to have a bigger and better tournament. At this tournament, for debate we will be offering BQ, open Policy, and Novice/Varsity Divisions of LD and PF. We will also offer the full compliment of individual events, including Spoken Word. New this year, we have also added Radio Broadcasting and Children's Literature! See the event pages or invitation for details on these events.

Note that due to space restrictions we will NOT be offering Congressional Debate this year. For those of you interested in competing in Congress, we would like to direct your attention to the Wildcat Cup, which is on the same dates but is offering a virtual Congress on Friday morning.

Fees: There is a $25 base school fee. Entries will be $7 for individual entries and $14 for partner event entries (Duo, Duet, CX, and PF). Please note that PF and BQ judges will go in the same pool.

All entries will be due prior to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24th. Any drops after that date will be assessed the entry fee amount for said event(s). Additions to the entry and modifications will also be accepted until that date. Judges need to be finalized by January 25th. Please post your drops and/or changes online as soon as you are aware of them!
