South Novice Tournament Invite

You are invited to the South Novice Tournament on Saturday, November 13, 2021. This will be a one-day, virtual tournament hosted through Tabroom.com. 

Registration

• Please enter competitors promptly. Entries are due on Tabroom by Friday, November 12 at 5:00pm: http://southnovice.tabroom.com/

• Entry fees are $5.00 per single entry, $10.00 per team

Resolutions 

• Lincoln Douglas: Resolved: A just government ought to recognize an unconditional right of workers to strike. (Note: this is the varsity Nov/Dec Topic). 

• Public Forum: Resolved: Increased United States federal regulation of cryptocurrency transactions and/or assets will produce more benefits than harms. (Note: this is the varsity Nov/Dec Topic). 

• Congress: We will use a pre-set docket (click link). 

• Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its protection of water resources in the United States.

• We also ask that novice policy cases fall into one of the four novice case areas:

• Substantially strengthen federal surveillance and standards for lead in drinking water.

• Substantially limit the use of hydraulic fracturing by energy companies in the U.S..

• Substantially strengthen federal standards for agricultural runoff into lakes and streams.

• Substantially increase the protection of wetlands in the United States.

Judges

All judges for participating schools must be entered on Tabroom

• Varsity competitors who will be judging should fill out the Varsity Judge Form

• Varsity judges may judge competitors from their own team

• Varsity judges should be available throughout the tournament wherever possible

Rules:

Partner events (Duo, PF, and CX) will be live, and partners may participate on the same screen. Competitors are encouraged to follow their local Covid guidelines and procedures.
