Dear Speech & Debate Community,

It is our pleasure to formally invite you to attend the 2021-2022 Singing River Classic at Pascagoula High School. The challenges we faced in the past two seasons leave us especially eager and overjoyed to host you on our campus November 12-13.

Please review the MHSAA Covid19 protocols. Strict adherence to safety protocols increases the likelihood that we can continue to enjoy in-person experiences this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

LD and PF will debate five preliminary rounds on Friday with elimination rounds on Saturday during Flight A. Policy will debate four preliminary rounds on Friday with elimination rounds on Saturday.

In the midst of dealing with the challenges of Covid19, last December our beloved middle school coach, Mr. Larry Bates, passed away. Mr. Bates was a wonderful teacher and mentor; he was passionate, encouraging, and kind. The Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 would like to honor his memory by awarding a junior or senior forensics student who exemplifies these qualities. If you would like to nominate a junior or senior student, please email jwilkinson@pgsd.ms to request a nomination form. All nominations must be received by November 5, 2021 by 2 pm.

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to hosting you IN PERSON, Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, very soon!

Sincerely,

Jessica Wilkinson,

Director of Forensics
