This is the Alief ISD Middle School District Tournament. Consequently, this tournament is only open to the six middle schools within Alief Independent School District:

Dear Alief Middle Schools:

We would like to invite you to the First Annual Alief ISD District Speech, Drama, and Debate Tournament on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Kerr High School, 8150 Howell-Sugar Land Road, Houston, Texas 77083.

Medals will be awarded to finalists in 8 individual events, 2 duet events, 3 group events, and 2 debate events. To see the rules for each event, click on Events and Divisions on the right side of the screen.

At the end of the tournament, the top school will receive the Sandra Jones Memorial Sweepstakes Trophy, named in honor of the long-time Killough Middle School speech, debate, and theatre teacher.

Registration will open at 7:00 am on Thursday, October 21, 2021. To help with tournament planning, coaches must register their students by 8:00 am on Monday, November 29.

6 entries per event in individual, duet, and group events

3 entries in world schools debate

Due to the generosity of the Alief Fine Arts Department as well as Alief speech and debate alumni, this tournament will not have any entry fees! Out of respect for our benefactors, please impress upon your students the importance of honoring their commitment to compete.

The final drop deadline is 4:15 pm on Wednesday, December 8. Drops after this deadline will be charged a $5.00 drop fee.
