Please look over the Live Doc -- It is the closest thing we have to a path of tournament enlightenment.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRASH FOLDERS IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT EMAILS FROM KAZ ABOUT LITTLE LEX THIS WEEKEND! Tuesday's e-mail, and two from Princeton (plus three from Blake) have all gone straight into the trash since a message sent by the GLENBROOKS Tuesday morning!

I have also posted the email as a separate button on the right side of this page -- Email from 11/16

Hi Friends and Welcome to the 2021 version of Little Lex!

We hoped we'd be in person, but you know how that's been going, so we will be pleased to host you in Virtual Lexington, MA on Saturday, November 20. Our plan is to operate in the same way as we did last year, in conjunction with our good friends in the NYCFL. We will post a schedule shortly. Please note the following event details.

For some reason, I cannot get the Schedule Button to work, so here's the schedule...

JV -- Only First or Second Year Competitors

Novice -- Only First Year Competitors (DEBATING THE CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE TOPIC)

Novices who want to compete using the regular November-December topic should enter in JV.

PF -- Three Divisions (If Numbers Permit) -- Five Prelims -- Medals to All Students with Winning Records

Varsity -- Third or Fourth Year Competitors (or ambitious younger students)

JV -- Only First or Second Year Competitors

Novice -- Only First Year Competitors

Policy -- Three Divisions (If Numbers Permit) -- Four Prelims -- Medals to All Students with Winning Records -- We will COMBINE JV and Varsity if we must.

Varsity -- Third or Fourth Year Competitors (or ambitious younger students)

JV -- Only First or Second Year Competitors (Including Novices NOT Using the NDCA Packet)

Novice -- Only First Year Competitors -- Exclusively Using the NDCA Packet (link below)

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17kV7SQPQOaHyidKhIQP9nP1UKsBN4bAp

It is acceptable to rearrange the cards in the NDCA packet, write analytical arguments that stem from the cards in the packet, or change the underlining and highlighting of cards in the packet. It is not acceptable to read arguments that are not in the packet or to read new cards on packet arguments in the Novice division. Students wishing to add to the packet or go outside of it should register in JV.

Middle schools are permitted to register, but middle school students who have competed in previous school years should register in JV unless they have competed not more than twice. Middle school students with more experience than that do not belong in a novice division since some of those novices may literally be in the first tournament of their lives.

High school juniors or seniors are welcome to judge in any of the NOVICE divisions as long as they have 200 NSDA points or more. Seniors ONLY are permitted to judge in JV divisions. Should a JV and Varsity division need to be combined, however, all judges will need to be high school graduates, so it would be best if schools register adults for JV Policy and LD, since those are the events most likely to need to be combined. You may also change your judge arrangements if combining divisions becomes necessary.

We hope to see you on the Saturday before Thanksgiving!
