Tascosa Fall Fest

September 25, 2021

PLEASE NOTE THAT BY REGISTERING FOR THIS TOURNAMENT YOU AND YOUR SCHOOL ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS FOR THIS IN PERSON TOURNAMENT. FAILURE TO COMPLY COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE TOURNAMENT!

Masks – Competitors and sponsors are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to wear masks when not competing.

Social Distancing – Every effort will be made to provide adequate social distancing for schools. Keep in mind that we have a smaller cafeteria. We will do our best to section off areas of the gym and cafeteria for schools. If space allows we can provide individual classrooms for schools to gather in. It is the expectation of schools to stay in their designated areas when not competing.

Schools should not bring students that are COVID positive. Schools should also not bring students that have exhibited COVID symptoms within 7 days of the tournament.

Meals – Due to the nature of food preparation we will have a limited concession stand this year. Sponsors should expect to acquire meals from the restaurants near Tascosa for their students. A lunch hospitality room will be provided for coaches and judges only.

There should be a school-approved chaperone with students at all times.

Cross-entries – Students will be able to cross-enter 4 individual events in terms of IEs. LD Debate and Congress may not cross-enter.

LD Debate will use the September-October NSDA topic. Resolved: The member nations of the World Trade Organization ought to reduce intellectual property protections for medicines.

Please let your students know that we will be using direct questioning in Congress.

We are pleased to announce that we will also be recognizing one outstanding student with the G.L.O.W. (Go Light Our World) Award. This award will go to one student that may not be the most competitively successful, but who consistently strives through their actions and attitude to be a positive influence on their team, in their school, and in the world. Coaches may email a brief statement on why they feel a certain student should win the award. Please make sure to email nominations to Ryan Lovell at ryan.lovell@amaisd.org by September 22.

Entry fees are $10 per IE and Congress, $15 for LD.
