Welcome to the 2021 Viewmont Viking Clash
The 2021 Viking Clash will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021. During the day, we will hold 2 sessions of Congress and 4 sessions of Speech and Debate. All events, including interpretation events and oratory, will be held live.
Events, Rules, and Awards
The events at our tournament will be:
Public Forum (Novice/Open)
Lincoln Douglass (Novice/Open)
Big Questions Debate (Open ONLY)
Parlimentary Debate (Open ONLY, see rules page for specific rules)
SPEECH (All speech events are Open ONLY):
Combined Interpretation (HI, DI, or Duo)
Program Oral Interpretation
PENTATHALON (Open ONLY, see rules page for specific rules)

Double entry is allowed in certain events at the risk of the contestant, as the tournament will not be held up for double entry. Policy and Congress may not double enter. Only a single event of Extemp, other debate events, or Pentathalon may be entered by any competitor, although other speech events may be double entered by these people.
Our tournament will award trophies and the customary Viking Helmets to top finishers. In addition, Novices in categories in which no novice category is given will be given novice finisher awards. The special "Valkyrie" award will also be given to the top contender in the Pentathalon. A sweepstakes award will also be given for the top school overall.
Our tournament will attempt to follow the following schedule:
Arrival and Check-in: 7:00 AM - 7:45 AM
Session 1: 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Session 2: 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM
All Other Events
Round 1: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Round 2: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Round 3: 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Round 4: 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Awards 5:00 PM (Tentative, awards will begin as soon as all ballots are tabulated)
Money and Questions
All entries will be charged the basic $4.00 fee, with each school also being charged a school fee of $15. There will be a concession stand for purchase of food and drinks during the tournament.
