Plano Senior Clark TFA Invitational

2021 — Plano, TX/US
Dear Speech and Debate Community,

We are thrilled to welcome you all back for the beginning of the competitive Speech and Debate Season. After careful consideration, we have decided to transition our tournament from an entirely in-person swing to a single hybrid tournament in 2021. Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Policy Debate, World Schools Debate, and Congressional Debate will be held virtually, and all other events will be in person at Plano Senior High School's campus.

This decision was made because we wanted to create a tournament experience that would cater to many different programs whose students may have different needs and degrees of concern pertaining to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, we felt that attempting to host a swing would potentially detract from our goal of hosting an experience that would be both educationally beneficial and safe to all entries at our tournament.

Some important details:
  • The in-person portion of this tournament will take place at Plano Senior High School and will exclusively be on Saturday, August 28
  • Virtual events will take place on Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28
  • The TFA VIQT Safe Restart Guidelines will be followed. They are viewable here: https://www.txfa.org/documents/2021-22/Safe%20Restart.pdf
  • Virtually hosted events will be hosted on NSDA Campus.
