Fees
The entry cost for the tournament is $35/entry with all of the funds being donated to the ClosingTheDivide organization. If this price is unaffordable the option for Fee Waivers is available. If you are in need of these waivers, please contact one one of our tournament administrators as soon as possible as we have a limited amount of Fee Waiver to supply.
Judging
Each team that is entered is required to bring a judge for all of the preliminary rounds. If the students advance to the elimination rounds, judges may be picked to judge 1 round past the students elimination round. If you are not able to provide a judge, you have the option to hire a judge via tabrooms. The cost for that is $100 for all 4 preliminary rounds and any elimination rounds (prices subject to change based on the number of entries).
Dress Code
The CTD Spring Invitational does not require competitors to dress formally. We encourage competitors to wear casual attire.
Deadlines
Registration deadlines are on April 18th 2021. In order to register please fill out this google form, or simply register for the tournament via tabrooms if you already have an account.
Mavericks
Public Forum debate is in a 2 versus 2 format (where 2 debaters supporting one side of the resolution) debate against another 2 debaters supporting the opposite side of the resolution. Although not encouraged, our tournament does allow maverick teams (which are 1 person debate teams). Maverick debaters will also be allowed to clear elimination rounds if they qualify and receive awards.
