This is a Brentwood Intrasquad Scrimmage--so only Brentwood students are competing.  Apologies in advance.

VOLUNTEER JUDGES who can commit to one or two rounds (aka friends of Brentwood or friends of Victor) are encouraged to help us out!  We thank you in advance for helping us out with your donated time.  You help us do this since using all hired judges is very expensive!

That said... 

WE ARE HIRING JUDGES for this tournament if you are able to commit for the entire tournament.  The rounds will be very short.  That would mean judging TWO of the three Asynch PRO CON CHALLENGE speech rounds (approx. 45 min in length).  You can do it on your own timing as long as you submit by 4:00 pm Pacific.  In addition, we need you to judge TWO of the three LIVE IMPROMPTU rounds (all three rounds will take place from 4:30pm to 6:45pm Pacific time.. so super short).

For hired judges, we also need an express commitment to EXTENSIVE COMMENTS.  Since this is an intrasquad scrimmage, the focus is on feedback, in-depth constructive feedback (beyond typical judging), etc.  We want brutally honest, blunt, emotionally invested judges that are seeking to help our students get better.  The time commitment is short for the rounds themselves; the expectation is that you will spend the time to give A LOT OF FEEDBACK... i.e., approx. 5 min on each speaker.

Total time will probably not take you longer than 4-4.5 hours.  And you're not required to be "on call."  The day is very predictable.  So it's very different from a normal tournament.  We will pay $100 for the day.

SCHEDULE

Three asynchronous rounds of the new NSDA supplemental event "Pro Con Challenge."

Then three live two-minute impromptu rounds from 4:30pm to 6:45pm Pacific time.

9:00am to 4:00pm   Rounds 1, 2, and 3 of PRO CON CHALLENGE (asynchronous)

4:30pm  Round 1 Impromptu (Live/NSDA Campus)

5:15pm  Round 2 Impromptu (Live/NSDA Campus)

6:00pm  Round 3 Impromptu (Live/NSDA Campus)

6:45pm  Awards Ceremony / Coach Debrief
