This is a Brentwood Intrasquad Scrimmage--so only Brentwood students are competing. 

We need both HIRED JUDGES (who are committed to the whole day and available to judge all six time slots) and VOLUNTEER JUDGES (who are able to donate their time for one or two slots). We need both experience and inexperienced judges. The key is your willingness to pay attention, make a decision, and share your thoughts (in writing and orally).

To the VOLUNTEER JUDGES who can commit to one or two rounds (aka friends of Brentwood or friends of Victor), thank you in advance for helping us out with your donated time. You help us do this since using all hired judges is very expensive!  Click on the "JUDGE SIGNUP" tab above.

To those looking to get HIRED, you must commit for the entire tournament. The tournament day runs from 9:00am to 6:00pm. We will pay $150 for the day for people who can do the entire day.

Two events--Big Questions and LD Debate

Every round is single flighted.

For hired judges, we also need an express commitment to EXTENSIVE COMMENTS. Since this is an intrasquad scrimmage, the focus is on feedback, in-depth constructive feedback (beyond typical judging), etc. We want brutally honest, blunt, emotionally invested judges that are seeking to help our students get better. You should give some written feedback, but the focus is on ORAL FEEDBACK. Each round will have 2 or 3 judges.. and we are expecting EXTENSIVE ORAL CRITIQUE... more brutal than normal. We are scheduling 45 minutes for the round and 30 minutes for oral critique. RFD is important, but even more important is the constructive criticism. The kids have tough skins; dig deep.
