This year the dioceses of New Orleans and Lafayette are combining efforts to host a qualifier tournament for the National Catholic Forensic League Tournament.  This qualifying tournament will allow both dioceses to qualify its maximum number of students for each group (4 for New Orleans & 5 for Lafayette).  While students will compete in one tournament, separate qualifiers will represent each area when competing at the national tournament. This tournament will occur Thursday, March 4 - Saturday, March 6.

Entry Information:

* Coaches may enter students in 1 team speech/debate event and also enter up to 2 IEs. These limits do not apply to congress.

* All entry fees are a flat $6.00 per competitor per event.

* There will be no hired judges. Please bring trained judges to meet your obligation.

* Judges: Judge ratios will be 1 judge per 3 LDers/3 Debate Teams AND 1 judge per 5 IE entries. Please remember that the number of judges owed is the number that must be available each round. NOTE: Tournament officials reserve the right to impose fines or disqualify a school's entries if school judges "no-show" for assigned rounds or a school does not supply their required judge obligation.

Tournament officials will announce/post the top five qualifiers on Saturday night with each diocese holding a coaches' meeting on Sunday (each league will plan their own time) to solidify the competitors that will eventually represent each diocese at the national tournament.

The NCFL Grand National Tournament will take place online Friday, May 28 through Sunday, May 30.
