*Double entries are not allowed at the region or state tournament. 

Judge requirements: 1 per 2 in CX, PF & LD entries or portion thereof; 1 per 5 IE entries or portion thereof: and 1 congress judge for the panel, if you want representation in the congress judging.

Debate pairing: Random by round, with an effort to ensure that each school meets each of the other schools.

Individual Event Pairing: Random by round

Topics:

Extemp topics:  Will come from NFHS and speechgeek (https://speechgeek.com/extemp/)

Impromptu:  Round 1:  social value questions and current event issues (trade war, social justice, should uniforms be worn in school, etc.); Round 2: quotations; Round 3: Abstract words and people. 

Congress:  Docket is posted on Tabroom

LD: Resolved: The United States ought to guarantee universal child care.

PF: Resolved: On balance, the benefits of creating the United States Space Force outweigh the harms.

Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing.

7:45 am: Judge’s Meeting

8:00 am: Round 1                                    

9:30 am: Round 2                                     

11:00 am: Round 3

12:30 pm: Round 4 (debate only, if needed)

2:00 pm: Round 5 (debate only, if needed)

3:30 pm: Awards (sooner if possible)

8:00 – 10:00 AM Session 1

10:15 AM – 12:15 PM Session 2

Judges:

Because the tournament will be held online, please ensure that your judges have access to their tabroom account and that they understand how to meet their obligations.  This will help us ensure we run on time. 

Schools that do not have enough judges to cover their entries will have their entries dropped. 

Applicable Rules:

We will use the rules listed in the UHSAA handbook.  However, the UHSAA handbook refers to the NSDA rules on some occasions, so I’m attaching both.
