Dear Nevada Speech & Debate Coaches:

Welcome to the first ever Online Nevada State Championship tournament. We are going to try to mirror the Golden Desert and Sagebrush tournaments so far this year.

All speech except US and International extemp will be asynchronous. Videos will need to be uploaded by February 28th. Asynchronous ballots will be sent to judges on March 1st and they will have till Wednesday, March 3rd to judge the prelim rounds.

Extemp and debate will be live. The schedule will be posted soon.

Congress Legislation will be due to cbriggs@washoeschools.net by February 15th. Every school may submit 2 pieces. 

We will be using the following topics for debate:

Public Forum: Resolved: On balance, the benefits of creating the United States Space Force outweigh the harms.

Lincoln Douglas: Resolved: The United States ought to guarantee universal child care.

Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing.
