Henry Clay Bardstown Middle Virtual Blizzard Swing Henry Clay
Welcome to the Bardstown Middle/Henry Clay Blizzard Speech Tournament (Henry Clay Portion)!
For our portion of the swing tournament we will be holding 2 Preliminary Rounds starting Wednesday, January 20th @ 8:00 AM EST (or earlier) through Friday, January 22nd @ 4:00 PM EST. Judging can occur at any time within that time period.
Finals will start on Friday, January 22nd @ 8:00 PM and run through 12:00 PM Noon EST on Saturday, January 23rd. Judging can occur at anytime within that time period.
Impromptu Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking & Improvisational Duo topics will be released Sunday, January 17 @12PM. Students will be required to record prep time for Impromptu Speaking and Improvisational Duo with their performance. Extemporaneous Speaking will only need to submit their performance.
Broadcasters will submit KHSSL Round 2 Script performances (minimum time of 2:45 & maximum time of 3:15)
Each student can participate in up to 12 events. Bring on those duodecuplers!!!
Please note that all performances must include a complete view of the performer with the exception of broadcasting.
If a student is reading their speech or script on their video screens in any event other than Broadcasting, they risk being dropped in rank or disqualification. Broadcasting is the only event where students are permitted to read from a phone, laptop, or video screen.
All video submissions are due by 5 PM EST on Monday, January 18th
The same student video will be used for all rounds including finals. All Duo Acting & Improvisational Duos must be split-screen recorded performances (no same-room partner performance recordings will be accepted).
Please check video upload links to make sure they are working properly after they have been uploaded to tabroom. Make sure all of your recordings are shareable and open for viewing outside of your school district (please check the video settings on your performances before submission to avoid issues with playback by the judges).
Plaques will be awarded for Team Sweepstakes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishing teams.
Students will receive medals for 1st - 6th place in each category.
Our goal is to have the awards ceremony at 6:00 on Saturday, January 23rd.
Please refer to KHSSL.org for speech rules in each event.
