The Speech and Debate Teams at Canyon and Tascosa High Schools cordially invite you to attend the Canyon/Tascosa TFA/NIETOC Swing February 2-6, 2021. We will offer all TFA events, and will also offer Poetry and Prose. All IEs except for extemp will be asynchronous. Live rounds will take place on NSDA Campus. 

Students in asynchronous IEs may enter unlimited asynchronous IEs per tournaments. All asynchronous IEs will get two prelim rounds.  Extempers may only enter one division of extemp per tournament, and may not compete in Debate. Debaters may not enter extemp. Entries and drops are due by 5:00 pm, February 1. Links to all video performances for the asynchronous IEs should be posted by 1:00 pm on Tuesday the 2nd. 

We will be using the TFA Spring 2021 Congress docket which can be found at https://txfa.org/resources.asp?t=2. 

Canyon Congress Prelims will use items 1-8

Tascosa Congress Prelims will use items 9-15

Canyon Congress Finals will use items 16-23

Tascosa Congress Finals will use items 24-30. 

LD, CX, and PFD will use the NSDA resolutions current for February 2021.

WSD will use the following motions:

Round 1: This House would end the European common currency (Euro).

Round 2: Impromptu Motion

Round 3: This House would abolish all patents for green technology.

Semis: Impromptu Motion

Finals: This House would ban fracking.

In PFD we will be breaking straight to semis. If numbers warrant, the 5-8 ranked students from prelims will receive points based on the TFA 1 day IQT schedule.
