Lubbock High School TFA

2020 — Online, TX/US
Greetings,

Lubbock High School is pleased to be hosting a Texas Forensic Association Qualifying tournament. Given the challenging context of 2020 forensics competition, our goal is to limit the size of our tournament to something very manageable and to prioritize the entries of Region 1 schools and other institutions who typically attend Region 1 tournaments. Thus, we'll be waitlisting all entries as they come in while assessing the viability of the tournament and our ability to provide for a quality tournament experience.

Regarding judges, we've decided not to assign fees for judging. We know many budgets are precarious right now; but PLEASE do your best to cover your entries. We are trying to recruit volunteer judges but there's no way we will be able to make this work without your commitment to help. As a worst case scenario, we may have to scale back (or even eliminate) the entries of the schools who are not covering their judging obligations. If you have the means, please take the money that you would have spent on judge fees and hire people to help. Please and thank you!!!!!

With that out of the way, we are offering the following asynchronous events: DI, HI, Informative, OO, POI, Prose and Poetry. Links to presentations should be posted to tabroom by Tuesday, December 8 at 7:00 PM.

We will offer the following synchronous events: Congressional Debate (Friday evening), LD, CX, DX and FX (Saturday).

Congressional Debate is scheduled so those participants can enter other events as desired. Debaters will have to choose between LD and CX and will not be able to compete in extemp.  Extempers will have to choose between DX and FX and will not be able to compete in debate.

Please see the full schedule below and let us know if you have any questions,
