Welcome to the 2020 Golden Eagle Cup.

This tournament will be online through Zoom! All events (including RT and Duo) will be held live. Partner events can be competing in the same room. Zoom links to your designated competition rooms will be posted on tabroom.com. All coaches, competitors, and judges must complete the Verification Form

COACHES AND JUDGES, PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW IN ITS ENTIRETY SO THE TOURNAMENT WILL RUN AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE. 

We will use the following naming conventions on Zoom: 

Debate

Event Room #-LAST NAME-SCHOOL INITIALS-AFF/NEG/Pro/Con

3 Prelim Rounds, no finals

Triple entries are allowed if one of the three events is RT. Competitors should attend RT and Extemp first.

Duo and RT: You are allowed to compete in the same room as your partner(s). 

Extemp: Competitors will prep in the extemp prep Zoom with cameras on. A few minutes prior to their speak time, students will enter their break out room. Questions will be uploaded and emailed to coaches the night prior to the tournament. Coaches are responsible for sending questions to their students. 

Debate

6 prelim rounds- with a hidden final at all levels. 

Varsity and JV events will be 3 random prelim rounds and 3 powered rounds. 

Public Forum-We will NOT be using the tabroom.com "flip" function to pick sides and speaking positions. The judge will be in charge of the coin flipping at home. The coin toss winner will pick their side/speaking position and the judge will select those options on their online ballot.  

Tournament Checklist:

-Please make sure all of your competitors and judges have the MOST updated version of Zoom installed on their computer. 

-Please make sure all of your competitors and judges have a linked Tabroom account or they will not be able to compete. Use this tutorial document to learn how. Tutorials

-Please make sure all of your competitors and judges have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and camera. 

-Judges and competitors MUST have their cameras on at all times. 

-Please have all judges and competitors sign the verification form indicating they are aware of how to use the Zoom and Tabroom software. Verification Form
