2020 Annual Rosebowl Debate Tournament
You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head.
FORMAT: There will be 5 rounds for LD. Friday will have a mini-2 round tournament for Novice and Rookie Policy. Saturday will be a mini-three round tournament for Rookie and Novice Policy. Policy prep time limit will be 8 minutes.
AWARDS: All finalists will receive awards.as well as the recipient of the 5th annual Brian Plunkett award for Creative Debate. We will also be holding a *saturday only* costume contest via zoom. (Details on this will be posted on tournament day...but dress in a nerdy costume to participate/compete).
Resolutions: Policy debate will debate the 2020-21 national resolution:
Resolved: The United States federal government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing.
L/D will debate the November/December resolution:
Resolved: The United States ought to provide a federal jobs guarantee.
CONCESSIONS: None because this will be online.
