Other general information to keep in mind:

While you wait or have downtime between rounds, please read your judge's paradigm before your round!

Each person has been assigned a different impact to debate with. Every debater will be debating by themselves, so no partners for this tournament. Make sure to write a case for your impact, a speech that will take up 2 minutes, or around 350-400 words. It is always ok to have more words because your judges are tech so they are fine with speed.

Speech times will be halved:
2 minute constructive each side
1:30 minute crossfire
2 minute rebuttal each side
1:30 minute crossfire
1:30 minute summary each side
1:30 grand crossfire
1:30 minute final focus each side

Each debater gets two minutes of prep time to use.

During the tournament, assume that your impact materializes immediately. For example, if your impact is space colonization, we would immediately have colonies on Mars or the Moon somewhere. If your impact is a world recession, it happens immediately.

Both debaters’ impacts will materialize at the same time, so for example there would be a nuclear war and a Chinese hegemony happening at the same time. As a result, it will be hard to prerequisite each other’s arguments, but link-ins are still possible.
