Loyola High School cordially invites you and your scholars to register for the 2020 Loyola Invitational.
Due to the unpredictable nature of current times, we regretfully inform you that we are not able to have you join us in person to enjoy the hospitality of our community on the campus of Loyola High School of Los Angeles.
However, we are committed to our Jesuit mission of education and being people for and with others. As a team, we feel that speech and debate competitions are important and unique educational opportunities that provide a versatile academic experience to young people throughout the country. Therefore, we hope that you will join us as we move our tournament online to NSDA's new Campus platform which will be held over the weekend of September 5-7th, 2020.
A formal invitation will be published soon which will highlight the main details of this tournament for your convenience. The Loyola Invitational Tournament this year is committed to the following factors to allow for a more inclusive attendance from participating communities during these unprecedented times.
We are adding a division of Open Public Forum to the competition this year.
We plan to continue to offer high-quality awards to all elimination round participants as well as provide high-quality judging. Lastly, we will be lowering entry fees to be more accessible to debaters who wish to attend. With this, we are excited to welcome schools and debaters who would normally not travel to Los Angeles to attend this tournament.
