General Info

- We will offer judge prefs in all debate events.

- There is no obligation for entries to bring their own judge, so sign up as you want!

- Brackets will not be broken in all debate events.

- All debaters must have speech docs for each round and must send them to their opponent (this is to ensure audio problems don't hinder the round too much). Great ways to send speech docs are to either Speechdrop them or set up an email chain.

- Any debater leaving a round midway or who is unable to continue the round due to internet difficulties will have to forfeit just that round. This is to ensure that debaters do not attempt to cheat by getting more prep time, etc.

- We will have a mandatory check-in on May 29th for all competitors/judges. Use the form linked above in the checklist to check-in.

Competitor Registration

- Competitors can either ask their coach to register them as a competitor representing their school or as an independent entry. If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the tournament staff.

PF Debate:

- We will be using the NSDA January Topic (Resolved: The US should end its economic sanctions against Venezuela).

LD Debate:

- We will be using the NSDA January/February Topic (Resolved: States ought to eliminate their nuclear arsenals).

- All prelims will be side locked, and elims will be flip for sides unless debaters have previously debated, which in that case it will be side locked with opposite sides.

Policy Debate:

We will be using the NSDA 2019-2020 Policy Debate Topic (Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States).

- All prelims will be side locked, and elims will be flip for sides unless debaters have previously debated, which in that case it will be side locked with opposite sides.

Parliamentary Debate:

- Parli will be run as a round-robin for this tournament.

- We will be following the APD format.

Prefs System:

- This tournament will be utilizing MJP prefs. This can be done through Tabroom and they will open May 28th at 12:00 AM and close May 29th at 12:00 PM.
